Launching a Shopify store is more than connecting a theme and uploading products. Use this checklist before you announce the store to Raleigh, Durham, Cary, or online customers.

Catalog and Merchandising

  • Product titles and descriptions written for humans, not keyword dumps
  • Variants, SKUs, and inventory counts verified
  • High-quality images with consistent framing and alt text
  • Collections that match how people shop (use-case, category, best sellers)

Checkout, Payments, and Tax

Test guest checkout and account checkout. Confirm payment providers, tax settings for North Carolina and destination-based shipping regions, and any required policies (refund, shipping, privacy) linked in the footer.

Shipping Reality Check

Rates, free-shipping thresholds, delivery estimates, and packaging notes should match what operations can fulfill. Broken promises create chargebacks and bad reviews faster than a slow homepage.

Theme Performance and Mobile QA

App stacks get heavy. Remove unused apps, compress media, and test add-to-cart on a mid-range phone. Check sticky ATC bars, filters, and cart drawers for tap targets and keyboard access.

SEO Fundamentals on Shopify

  • Unique title tags and meta descriptions on home, collections, and key products
  • Clean handle URLs and logical collection hierarchy
  • XML sitemap submitted in Search Console
  • Redirects from any previous store or brochure site URLs

Analytics and Marketing Pixels

Verify Shopify analytics, Google Analytics 4 (or your stack), and ad pixels with test purchases. Confirm purchase events fire once, not three times.

Launch Day Ops

Have a rollback plan for theme publishes, a contact path for order issues, and someone watching the inbox for the first 48 hours. Soft-launch with a small audience when you can.

Need a Shopify Build That Is Ready to Sell?

PixelMelon builds Shopify stores for Triangle brands with performance and conversion in mind, not theme clutter. See e-commerce services or request a consult.
